Mapping the Realm: What to expect from Chapters & Claymore

Introduction

Think of this blog as a guide through the chaos. With all the sub-genres and books to choose from, it can be overwhelming and hard to decide which book to pick up next. If you aren’t sure where to start, stuck in a rut after your last book, or just can’t choose between all the suggestions on social media, keep an eye out for my blogs!

My Reading Style

Whilst reading, I like to consider whether the magic system works and how it’s introduced throughout the book. A lot of people get bored and DNF (do not finish) books when there is a lot of world building before the actual plot, I actually enjoy and prefer this! On the topic of magic systems, I’m not fussy. I do love books primarily about dragons, but will dip my toes into any and everything.
In terms of finishing books, I hate DNF’ing books and try my best to persevere till the end but have put a book down once or twice when I wasn’t enjoying it.
My reading speed depends on the book, but typically, if the book is 600 pages I could finish in roughly 3 days with the right motivation.

What’s Coming Next

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be publishing more blogs. Keep an eye out for my top 5 recommendations, a deep dive into why The Poppy War, by R F. Kuang, magic system is perfect and my first review of the From Blood and Ash Series, by Jennifer L Armentrout.
